Svi Mykhailiuk, a free agent, has signed a one-year contract with the Boston Celtics. As of present, the Celtics now have one available roster place. Mykhailiuk has been on the Celtics' radar for a while, having been given a contract earlier this summer. There were speculations about whether Mykhailiuk planned to play in Europe next season or whether he wanted to stay in the NBA for another year.
Svi Mykhailiuk's professional career has seen him play for Los Angeles, Detroit Pistons, OKC, Raptors, New York Knicks, and Charlotte Hornets. Fortunately for Mykhailiuk, the transfer to Charlotte resulted in the finest year of his career thus far. Mykhailiuk averaged 10.6 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game in 19 games (eight starts). This included a 26-point effort against the Raptors. Mykhailiuk offers the Celtics a lot of NBA experience and is also capable of being an outside shooter off the bench.
