The Golden State Warriors waived guards Seth Curry and LJ Cryer on Saturday, but Curry is expected to return to the roster. Basketball writer Marc Stein reported on X that Golden State plans to re-sign the younger brother of star Stephen Curry next month once they have enough financial flexibility. Curry, 35, joined the Warriors on October 1 but didn’t appear in any preseason games. Since entering the NBA in 2013-14, he has played for nine teams, averaging 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from three-point range.
Last season, in 68 games (14 starts) with the Charlotte Hornets, he averaged 6.5 points and 1.7 rebounds, posting a league-high 45.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Warriors’ move reflects roster and salary management, with Curry’s return expected once the team creates the necessary space.
