The Pistons defeat the Rockets displaying unexpected strength

It was really a blue-collar, Detroit-style victory last night, and almost everyone had to pitch in. Daniss Jenkins played five excellent minutes, rookie Chaz Lanier scored his first run and made his first basket, and Javonte Green, who played good defense and made a 3-pointer, gave JB Bickerstaff 20 minutes off the bench. These were vital minutes with Marcus Sasser, Caris LeVert, and Jaden Ivey out, and these players held their own.

Paul Reed, who was forced into 19 minutes due to Stewart's foul problems and Duren's dismissal, provided the largest lift. He contributed two blocks, including the one that essentially ended the game, nine rebounds, and thirteen points to the Pistons. Along with his 17 points, Duncan Robinson also contributed to a solid performance, displaying his versatility with three rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. He guarded all night long and played an incredible 38 minutes, occasionally even guarding Kevin Durant.
