Thomas Sorber will miss the 2025–26 season
More than six weeks before the regular season even starts, the defending NBA champions have already encountered a setback in their quest for a rematch. The Oklahoma City Thunder said Friday that rookie center/forward Thomas Sorber will miss the 2025–26 season after tearing his right ACL during a workout the day before.
After Sorber, then 19 years old, averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in his one season at Georgetown, the Thunder took him with the 15th choice in the June draft. As a freshman, he participated in 24 games before suffering a turf toe injury that necessitated surgery to end his season. While recuperating from the surgery, he also missed the NBA Summer League with the Thunder. The 6-foot-10 Sorber was not expected to be a contributor this season.
