The Atlanta Hawks wrapped up their preseason in Oklahoma City against the Thunder, with most of the starters sitting out following a game against the Miami Heat the night before. Head coach Quin Snyder gave his reserves plenty of playing time, and they seized the opportunity. Onyeka Okongwu, returning after missing much of the preseason due to toe inflammation, made an immediate impact, scoring early points in the paint during a strong first quarter.
Rookie Kobe Bufkin also contributed, hitting key three-pointers to help the Hawks build momentum. The team went on a run late in the first quarter, with Dyson Daniels playing a pivotal role. He applied defensive pressure and contributed to the offense with smart plays and hustle. In the second quarter, Okongwu expanded his game by stepping out to the perimeter and knocking down a three-pointer, showcasing his versatility in a solid all-around performance.
