Despite the fact that his club had lost six of its previous nine games, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch switched altered his starting lineup for Monday's 108-106 victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, two days after he justified using the same starting five.
He benched 18-year NBA veteran point guard Mike Conley and started reserve guard Donte DiVincenzo with Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, and Jaden McDaniels since the Wolves had been having trouble starting games lately. For a Wolves team that was behind by as many as 19 points before halftime but ahead by as much as 10 points after, the outcome was not better at the beginning but much better in the closing minutes. Edwards ended the Wolves' three-game losing run with a 36-point performance, including two of his six three-pointers in the last 1:12.
