Usman Garuba and Warriors enter into a two-way deal

The former Rockets first-round pick, Usman Garuba joins the Golden State Warriors after signing a two-way contract. Garuba recently represented Spain in the FIBA World Cup, averaging 8.2 points and 4 rebounds. The 21-year-old was drafted in 2021 as the 23rd overall pick by the Houston Rockets and spent two seasons with the team. 

Garuba fills the second of Golden State's three two-way slots and adds more front-court depth. Warriors are still on the lookout for players that would add more front-court depth on their main roster. The Warriors have occasionally been the exception to the rule that two-way players hardly ever play regular minutes on competitive teams. Two-way players might benefit from openings created by injuries and other unforeseen events, so maybe Garuba will see action sometime in the upcoming season. The former first-overall selection has been offered a new beginning in Golden State.
