Warriors Eye Pelicans’ Trey Murphy III Amid Kuminga Contract Standoff

Trey Murphy III, a wing for the Pelicans, is one name that has surfaced in their hunt, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

According to Fischer, the Pelicans were contacted by the Warriors this summer regarding Murphy. However, he points out that New Orleans has rejected bids for the recently-turned 25-year-old, who averaged 14.6 points per night for the previous two years before having a breakout season in which he scored 21.2 points per night. Being a 6'8" wing who can shoot (career 38.3% from three), defend well, and occasionally show off his creative side, Murphy is on a lucrative contract. According to Fischer, the Warriors have prioritised shooting, as seen by their refusal to entertain sign-and-trade deals that would require them to give up either Moses Moody or Buddy Hield.
