The Golden State Warriors remain without answers on Kristaps Porzingis, who is sidelined with an undisclosed health issue. Head coach Steve Kerr said the franchise has received no new information regarding the Latvian’s condition and still cannot estimate when he will return.
“I’ll speak with KP today, but there’s nothing new to report,” Kerr said. General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. recently confirmed that Porzingis would be out indefinitely, and no further details have emerged about either the problem itself or a potential recovery timeline. The uncertainty has also reached the locker room. Veteran Al Horford admitted players have been kept largely in the dark, adding that the team’s priority is seeing Porzingis get healthy.
After signing a two-year, $40 million contract this summer, Porzingis was expected to be a key piece of Golden State’s plans. Instead, the Warriors are preparing for the new season without knowing when their projected starting center will be available.
