Washington Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls 100-97

Kuzma drove to his right during a timeout and swished a jumper while leaning toward the Wizards' bench. With 2.3 seconds remaining, Chicago's Zach LaVine missed a 16-footer, and Washington's Deni Avdija grabbed the final of his career-high 20 rebounds. Earlier, LaVine tied the score at 97 by beating the shot clock. Kuzma scored 21 points overall. For Washington, backup forward Anthony Gill scored a game-high 18 points while Monte Morris chipped in with 17 more.

LaVine led Chicago with 38 points. DeMar DeRozan, the Bulls' leading scorer, missed his team's opening contest of the year due to a quadriceps issue. After trailing by 13 points at the half, Washington fought back to lead by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. Morris finished the third quarter with 15 points as the Wizards romped to a 41-21 lead.
