New Orleans Pelicans had been without their star player Zion Williamson since the start of the season after being sidelined with a right foot fracture. Without Williamson’s support that has been an anchor for the franchise in the past season, they have been limited to 2-13 so far in the season and even limped to a loss against Washington Wizards on Monday night.
The forward is slowly making his way to a full recovery he has already been cleared to participate in contact drills for now and would undergo additional medical imaging on Nov. 24 that would reveal his timeline for a full return to play. This would be Williamson’s third season with the team and he has just participated in 85 games which include 24 as a rookie after which he tore his right meniscus. Last season the 21-year-old averaged 27 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
