Australia grabs the first spot in ICC Test Rankings

After the Ashes 4-0 win, Australia bagged the first rank as per the new ICC Test Rankings. The dominating win under the new captain helped with whitewash while Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad’s magic spell left England in crutches. In the pecking order, New Zealand and India have slipped down the table after their humbling defeat in their respective test series. Inaugural World Test champions were defeated by India with the highest win-margin, but later the winning side was thrashed in South Africa’s backyard after they slipped in the last two matches.

Australia boosts their 119 ratings and India runs behind them with 116 and South Africa with the commanding win has moved to the fifth spot with 101 ratings followed by Pakistan with 93. New Zealand is second with 117 ranking after the Bangladesh match draw. In the lower half of the table, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are struggling to add points.
