Father and son make history in Timor-Leste's inaugural international match

In Timor-Leste's first-ever international match, father and son Suhail Sattar, 50, and Yahya Suhail, 17, made history by taking the field together. They became the first father-son duo to appear in the same men's international cricket fixture during their T20I debut against Indonesia in Bali. The two even shared a batting partnership, with Suhail scoring 14 runs and his son adding one before the team was bowled out for just 61.

The match concluded in a heavy 10-wicket defeat for the newcomers, as Indonesia successfully chased the target in a mere four overs. While a first for men's cricket, they are not the first parent-child duo to play internationally. That distinction belongs to mother and daughter Metty Fernandes and Naina Metty Saju, who have represented Switzerland together in six WT20I matches. In first-class cricket, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and his son Tagenarine also played together for Guyana.
