Glenn Maxwell smashed a history-making fierce 154 from 64 balls to set a BBL record with 22 fours and four sixes to set Star’s score to 273-2 with Maxwell’s unbeaten effort to see Melbourne Stars triumph over Hobart in the BBL. Hurricanes found a rude awakening with a 106-run pounding just before the finals. The star hitter overwhelmed the Hurricanes all around the wicket.

His century was the second-quickest in BBL history, coming in 41 balls and only two short of Craig Simmons' 39-ball exertion in 2014. Yet, he was in good company with Marcus Stoinis likewise completing unbeaten on 75 from 31 balls.
