ICC selects Doha as host for ICC board

The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially confirmed that Doha, Qatar, is the venue for the significant Board and Committee meetings scheduled for March 25-27, 2026. This summit brings together directors and senior leadership to deliberate on vital issues affecting the sport's global trajectory. Selecting Doha demonstrates the ICC's strengthening ties with the Qatar Cricket Association and the local sporting ecosystem.

Since 2020, cricket participation in Qatar has surged by an extraordinary 447%, driven largely by youth engagement strategies. Central to this expansion is the sport's inclusion in the Qatar Olympic Committee’s School Olympic Programme. Additionally, the Criiio Cricket Festivals have widened reach, involving 287 school teams, where nearly 90% of children played for the first time. The ICC regards this progress as a model for successful grassroots development strategies. Ultimately, hosting these meetings in Doha validates Qatar’s growing prominence within the international cricket community while fostering even deeper future collaboration.
