Indonesia’s Gede Priandana makes T20I history

Indonesian fast bowler Gede Priandana created history by becoming the first cricketer to claim five wickets in a single over in a T20 International. During the series opener against Cambodia in Bali, Priandana entered the attack in the sixteenth over with the opposition steady at 106 for 5.

He decimated the lineup, securing a hat-trick with his first three deliveries. Following a dot ball and a wide, he dismissed two more batters, ending with incredible figures of 5 for 1. This blitz triggered a collapse, leaving Cambodia all out for 107 and handing Indonesia a convincing 60-run victory. Previously, the international record stood at four wickets, held by Lasith Malinga.

While achieved twice domestically, Priandana’s feat is unique at the international level. Earlier, teammate Dharma Kesuma’s unbeaten 110 powered Indonesia to 167.
