India's Champions Trophy 2025 roster will not include Jasprit Bumrah, the BCCI said late Tuesday night. The speed leader for India has now been confirmed to miss the event after a protracted wait over his health condition following a back ailment. In the final 15-man team, Harshit Rana, a 23-year-old pacer, was selected to replace Bumrah. Another curveball in the selection process was the inclusion of 33-year-old mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy in instead of youthful opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the final roster.
Due to a lower back ailment, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will not be participating in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Bumrah has been replaced by Harshit Rana, according to the Men's Selection Committee. Varun Chakaravarthy has also been added to the Indian team's roster. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was first included in the preliminary team, will be replaced by the spinner, the BCCI announced in a press statement.
