Karthik has signed a contract with Paarl Royals

After declaring his retirement from all cricket formats two months ago, former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has changed his mind. The seasoned cricket player will take part in the next SA20. Karthik has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Paarl Royals. In the process, he joins the South African T20 competition as the first cricket player from India.

"Batter. Keeper. Completionist. Following the event, Paarl Royals posted on social media account X (formerly known as Twitter) with the message, "Welcome to the #RoyalsFamily, Dinesh Karthik. The announcement was made only one day after Karthik was officially announced to join South African icon AB de Villiers as the third edition of the SA20's brand ambassador. “I have so many fond memories of playing in and visiting South Africa, and when this opportunity came about, I couldn’t say no” said Karthik.
