Scotland name experienced squad for Emerging Nations Trophy

Scotland have announced a strong 14-player squad for the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy, with Kathryn Bryce once again entrusted with captaincy duties. The all-rounder, who led the side at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup earlier this year, will guide Scotland into the 10-team tournament beginning on 12 November in the United Arab Emirates.

The squad blends proven international experience with emerging prospects. Established figures such as Sarah Bryce, Katherine Fraser and Darcey Carter are joined by a younger generation that includes Gabriella Fontenla, Pippa Sproul and 18-year-old Isabella Watson, who is yet to make her senior international debut.

Fontenla and Sproul both represented Scotland at the 2025 ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, while Watson remains eligible for next year’s edition.

Drawn in Group A, Scotland will face Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka and hosts UAE. Their campaign opens against Papua New Guinea on 12 November at the Seven Districts Sports Club in Ajman.
