Leicestershire fast bowler Alex Green has signed a three-year deal

Green, 17, who was born in Cambridgeshire, made his One-Day Cup debut in August against Yorkshire at Scarborough. He went on to capture four wickets in three games.

After taking 85 wickets for Leicestershire's Under-18 team since the beginning of 2023, the 6 foot 6 inch pacer quickly advanced to senior cricket. This achievement allowed him to make his England Under-19 Test debut against Sri Lanka at Wormsley in July. "Leicestershire has a lot of role models," stated Green. I've been greatly influenced by athletes like Josh Hull and Sam Wood. Especially after witnessing what Hully has done to England. It broadens my perspective and gives me hope that I may succeed." Claude Henderson, director of cricket, continued, "We are really happy with Alex's development over the last 12 months. "The work of our Pathway coaches deserves a great deal of recognition. Alex has all he needs to help Leicestershire win games."
