Lucknow franchise reveals their name as ‘Lucknow Super Giants’

Indian Premier League 2022 would have 10 teams taking part this season with two new teams being invited after a bidding session was won by Lucknow and Ahmedabad. One of the new teams would be called Lucknow Super Giants as their official names circulated on social media handles. Lucknow’s pre-auction draft picks include Former Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul and he has been purchased at a handsome price of Rs 17 crore.

The team's draft pick also includes Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis at Rs 9.2 crore and uncapped Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi who previously played for PBKS and scalped 12 wickets each in the past two seasons. Another new team on the block is Ahmedabad they have picked Hardik Pandya and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crore each with Pandya serving as the skipper of the team. Ahmedabad also signed with Shubman Gill for Rs 8 crore. All the teams would now take part in IPL 2022 mega auction in February.
