Sunrisers Hyderabad pipped Rajasthan Royals by just one run

Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh were removed from the SRH side, meaning they were unable to take advantage of the Powerplay. SRH's innings was saved, though, by Travis Head and Nitish Reddy's 96 runs off 57 deliveries, with Heinrich Klaasen's 42 not out of 19 providing the last burst.

After choosing to bat, Reddy (76 not out) and Head (58) hit half-centuries to aid Sunrisers Hyderabad in posting 201/3. After Bhuvneshwar Kumar claimed two wickets in the first over, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (67) and  Riyan Parag (77) put up a 133-run partnership in reply. Powell hit a six over extra cover with the final delivery, but Cummins played a fantastic 19th over, conceding only seven runs. Powell bowled Bhuvneshwar for four when there were just 12 runs left in the last over and four players outside the 30-yard line because of the sluggish over-rate.
