New Zealand defeats Ireland to win 1st T20I

Glenn Phillips scored 69 runs while Lockie Ferguson's 4 wickets were very beneficial for New Zealand as they clinched a throbbing 31-run victory over their rival team, Ireland in the first T20 international match. In his 52-ball innings, Phillips remained unbeaten as he hit 7 boundaries, helping New Zealand score 173 for 8. In addition to this, Jimmy Neesham managed 29 runs, including a six.

Ireland was bowled out in 18.2 overs for 142 and with this, they lost their first game against NZ. Daryl Mitchell was dismissed for 5 off Curtis Campher, where the visitors were seen struggling 54 for four in the ninth over. Well, the situation wasn't predictable as New Zealand's Finn Allen was out for one just in the third over off Joshua Little, who managed to finish with 4 wickets.
