Oman Beat UAE by 5 Wickets

While Ireland found themselves on the verge of elimination after succumbing to yet another loss, this time against Scotland by one wicket, in the ICC World Cup qualifiers here on Wednesday, Oman maintained themselves in contention by defeating UAE by five wickets. When Scotland needed to chase down a target of 287 off the final ball with a wicket in hand, Michael Leask maintained his composure and scored an unbeaten 91 to clinch an unexpected comeback for Scotland.

At the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Scotland shocked Ireland with a one-wicket victory after Leask struck two off the penultimate ball. Coming to the crease with Ireland reeling at 33 for four, Curtis Campher appeared to be the day's hero before firing off a crucial century to help the side achieve a total of 286 for eight. That appeared to be enough as Scotland's reply collapsed to 152 for seven before Leask turned the tide.
