West Indies were out of normal against the Men in Green on Day 1 of the test series on Thursday after winning the toss and bowling the latter to limit the total to 217. Pakistan in its defense had Fawad Alam and Faheem Ashraf’s 85-run partnership to save the day with Alam’s top score 56 paired with Mohammad Abbas’s wondrous bowling.
Following Ashraf’s fall to Roston Chase, Hasan Ali was caught by Jayden Seales briefly. Further Jason Holder was exceptional who had Alam's defenses broken and also ended Pakistan’s innings with Abbas’s golden duck. Abid Ali, Imran Butt, Azhar Ali, and Babar Azam fell trap to Kemar Roach and Seales pairing, Joshua da Silva and more. The run-out allowed West Indies to step with the batting side self-destructive with Abbas hunt down two wickets of Kieran Powell and Nkrumah Bonner for ducks in the blink of just four overs and the former wobbling at 2 for 2 overnight.
