Ravichandran Ashwin stated that India could give a chance to Rishabh Pant as an opener in the T20I series against New Zealand. Team India is currently touring to New Zealand for three-match T20I series. The first T20I, which was set to take place on November 18, got abandoned due to rain in Wellington. Both the teams will now face each other for the second game that will take place at Mount Maunganui on Sunday. Prior to the match, Ravichandran Ashwin has given a list naming his choices for India XI for the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.
Unexpectedly, Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to make an entry in Ashwin's India XI, while Sanju Samson was another prolific cricketer that was missing from the list made by the off-spinner. Ashwin told that the position of second opener would be open for both Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant.
