West Indies have added Shamar Springer to their squad for the upcoming two-Test series in Bangladesh, replacing Keemo Paul, who is returning home for personal and family reasons, Cricket West Indies confirmed.
The 28-year-old seam-bowling allrounder has yet to feature in Test cricket, but has represented the Caribbean side in three ODIs and 12 T20Is. Across 23 first-class matches, he has scored 1,043 runs at an average of 32.59 and claimed 58 wickets at 27.87.
Springer impressed with the bat in the 2026 West Indies Championship, scoring 251 runs in four matches for Barbados at an average of 50.20.
Paul's withdrawal adds to West Indies' selection challenges, with Shai Hope rested and Alzarri Joseph unavailable following workload management decisions.
The visitors will play a warm-up match in Dhaka before the opening Test begins in Mirpur on October 28. The second Test is scheduled for Sylhet from November 5 to 9.
