Strikers extend their winning streak to three matches by beating Stars

Jonathan Wells helped Adelaide Strikers with his knock of 49-ball 73 to help the team post 155 runs for 6, later the four-wicket haul by Henry Thornton left Melbourne Stars crippled in their chase. Adelaide Strikers won by 23 runs, as they restricted Melbourne Stars to just 132 runs as Strikers extended their winning streak to three matches in their hopes to land a playoff spot.

Strikers did not start off 2021-22 Big Bash league well they lost six of their opening seven matches and now make up for their losses with back-to-back wins. Matthew Short gave Strikers a good start, scoring 33 runs from 22 balls after he saw his opening partner, Matt Renshaw fall early at two. Wells batting at no.4 kept Strikers alive with his 73 runs. In their chase Stars lost Glenn Maxwell at 16 and the rest of the top order collapsed like dominos soon Stars were 37 for 4 and could not find momentum again.
