Georgia Voll produced a superb unbeaten 131 to steer Australia to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second ODI at Allan Border Field on Sunday, clinching the three-match series 2-0.
Chasing 221, Australia dominated through Voll and Phoebe Litchfield, who smashed 70 from 51 balls. Their 162-run opening partnership came off just 119 deliveries, leaving the hosts comfortably positioned to finish the chase with 131 balls remaining.
Bangladesh had recovered from an early collapse to post 220-6, thanks to Sobhana Mostary’s outstanding 118 and captain Nigar Sultana Joty’s half-century. Their 195-run fourth-wicket stand established a national record in women’s ODIs.
Voll, named Player of the Match, celebrated her third ODI century, remaining unbeaten beyond the 101-run mark that had previously halted her twice. Australia will now prepare for Wednesday’s final match, featuring Beth Mooney’s 100th ODI appearance.
