Angry Guardiola urges Rodri to 'control his emotions' after receiving red card

Manchester City midfielder Rodri was sent off in the Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest after receiving a straight red card.

The Spaniard grabbed Morgan Gibbs-White around the neck less than 60 seconds into the second-half and could face a costly suspension as a three-game ban would see him miss the Premier League visit to Arsenal next month.

Pep Guardiola was asked about his player's attitude in the post-match press conference at the Etihad Stadium. The former Barcelona manager urged the 27-year-old to "control his emotions".

"Rodri has to control himself and his emotions. This is what he has to do. I can get a yellow card but Rodri cannot get a yellow card. I do not play. The guys inside have to be careful. Rodri needs to learn," he said.
