Aston Villa are still looking for candidates to replace Steven Gerrard. The English side are 16th on nine points after 10 matches this campaign with Liverpool's former player on the bench.

Because of their bad situation, the team are targeting the Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim. The coach has a 30 million euros buyout clause and Aston Villa are considering paying it, according to 'The Mirror'.

During the last campaign, Amorim won the Portuguese Super Cup. In addition, they were in second place in the league, the team reached the semi-finals of the Portuguese League Cup and the Portuguese Cup and the last 16 of the Champions League. But he is not the only option that Aston Villa have because they contacted Mauricio Pochettino, who will wait until the end of the World Cup before making a decision.
