Atletico Madrid join the battle for Mason Greenwood

Atletico Madrid are allegedly interested in signing Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood on a permanent basis during the summer transfer season. The 22-year-old was notified by the Red Devils that his time at the club had ended last summer, and he subsequently signed on loan with La Liga club Getafe. Greenwood has been in excellent form for the Spanish club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 22 games across all competitions.

As things stand, the Englishman will return to Manchester United this summer, with his contract set to expire at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. There has been speculation that he may return to the Red Devils group, but it is still thought that the club intends to sell him in the forthcoming transfer window. Barcelona are said to be the favorites, with the Catalan club setting up a transfer, while Greenwood reportedly 'dreams' of playing for the current La Liga winners.
