Barca chief Laporta targets Frank Rijkaard as Xavi's replacement

Two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and one Champions League, the one in Paris in 2006, is a great achievement that will awaken sweet memories in the Barcelona fan's mind. According to 'Radio Marca', Joan Laporta has thought of Frank Rijkaard as a replacement for Xavi Hernández at the end of this season. The Spanish coach has already made it known that he will not continue after 30th June.

The alternative has been out of coaching since 2014, when the Saudi Arabian Federation sacked him as coach for failing to reach the Gulf Cup finals that season. Before that, he was at Galatasaray where he managed 66 games, winning only 36, which was not enough for the board, who sacked him when they were 9th in the Turkish League and had been knocked out of the Europa League in the qualifying round.
