Brest beat 1-0 Lyon

Brest moved to the top of the French league rankings with a 1-0 victory against struggling Lyon thanks to a late header from substitute Steve Mounie. The seven-time champions remained winless and suffered their fourth league defeat in as many games as new Lyon coach Fabio Grosso was in charge of them. Laurent Blanc's position as Lyon's coach was filled by Grosso. Jeremy Le Douaron's attempt to break the score in the 24th minute put Lyon on the back foot right away.

Anthony Lopes, the goalkeeper for Lyon, had to make multiple saves to keep his team in the game, but he was unable to save Mounie's header from Kenny Lala's cross in the 87th minute. As a result, Nice is now one point behind Brest in the rankings. The little team from the Brittany region won the championship for the first time since the 2010–11 year.
