CEO of Brugge confesses to getting drunk at Dragão and invading locker room

The executive director of Club Brugge, Vincent Mannaert, gave an extensive interview to the most recent edition of the Belgian magazine HUMO, in which he confessed that he was struggling with alcohol addiction, after a series of episodes that took place over the last few months.

One of them took place at Estádio do Dragão. The leader assumes, now, to have invaded the locker room of the Belgian emblem, in a state of drunkenness, immediately after the heavy defeat suffered in the group stage of the Champions League, against FC Porto, by 4-0.

"I had been drinking too much. That was wrong, and I was also brought to attention by people at the club, including Bart Verhaeghe [the club president]", he said, following an incident in which he has been heavily criticized for the team's performance.
