Lille have confirmed Davide Ancelotti as their new head coach, with the Italian signing a two‑year contract to lead the Ligue 1 side. The thirty‑six‑year‑old arrives after a decade spent working alongside his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at Paris Saint‑Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton, gradually rising from fitness coach to trusted assistant. During his most recent spell at Real Madrid, he contributed to two Champions League titles, a Club World Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.
Davide stepped into senior management in 2025 with Botafogo, guiding the Brazilian club to sixth place and Copa Libertadores qualification before joining Brazil’s national‑team staff ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Lille president Olivier Létang praised his modern methods and leadership qualities, expressing confidence in his readiness.
Ancelotti said he felt a strong alignment with the club’s values and ambition, calling it an honour to lead a project that consistently competes in Europe.
