Dutch march into World Cup knockouts as group winners

The Netherlands wrapped up top spot in Group F with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Tunisia in storm‑soaked Kansas City. Ronald Koeman’s side struck twice inside seven minutes, capitalising on disastrous Tunisian defending. Ellyes Skhiri diverted Denzel Dumfries’ cross into his own net before Brian Brobbey smashed home from close range after Virgil van Dijk headed a free‑kick across goal. Dutch fans celebrated freely as Tunisia struggled to contain wave after wave of pressure.

Tunisia briefly revived hope early in the second half when Hazem Mastouri headed in from a corner, but the response was short‑lived. Minutes later, Jan Paul van Hecke restored the two‑goal cushion with a deflected header from Tijjani Reijnders’ delivery.

The defeat capped a miserable campaign for Tunisia, who conceded twelve goals in three matches despite hiring veteran coach Hervé Renard mid‑tournament. The Netherlands advance with seven points and will face Morocco in Monterrey.
