Bosnia stay alive with 3–1 win

Bosnia kept their World Cup hopes alive with a decisive 3–1 victory over Qatar in Seattle, a result that lifts them to third place in Group B and leaves qualification for the Round of 32 within reach. The match swung early in Bosnia’s favour when Alajbegović opened the scoring with a superb strike in the twenty‑ninth minute. Just five minutes later, their advantage doubled as Abunada inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a dangerous cross.

Qatar briefly reignited the contest before halftime, with Al Haidos finishing neatly in the forty‑second minute to cut the deficit. The Asian champions pushed forward after the break, but Bosnia remained composed and regained control as the second half progressed. Burnić sealed the result in the thirty‑fifth minute of the period, converting a well‑worked move to restore a two‑goal cushion.

Bosnia now await other results, still firmly in contention for a repechage spot.
