Fernando Batista is the new soccer coach of Venezuela

"I am here to inform you that Fernando Batista will be at the head of our selection, along with Leandro Cufré, Jorge Vidal, Vicente Rosales, all the medical staff, video analysts, Venezuelan and foreign physiotherapists, who have decided to accompany us and continue in ahead with the project", communicated the president of the FVF, Jorge Giménez.

On Wednesday, the FVF had announced the departure of Pekerman, who had been a coach for a year and three months since November 2021, replacing the Portuguese José Peseiro, who resigned from his position when he had 14 months of salary in arrears.

In qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, the Venezuelan team, which has never qualified for a final stage, finished 10th and last in the South American zone (CONMEBOL).
