Inter Milan secured a 2-1 victory against Genoa

In their quest for a 20th league title, Serie A leaders Inter Milan extended their advantage over second-place Juventus to 15 points with a 2-1 victory over Genoa on Monday. At the San Siro, goals from veteran Alexis Sanchez and youthful talent Kristjan Asllani within a six-minute stretch put Inter one step closer to beating local rivals AC Milan in Scudetto victories.

With this victory, Inter may place a second star above their club emblem. With eleven games left in the season, Juventus is now behind Inter. On Sunday, Juventus lost 2-1 to Napoli. Inter, led by Simone Inzaghi, was hoping to extend their winning streak to 12 games in all competitions after suffering a home league defeat in September. Mateo Retegui of Genoa and Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella both had chances to break the tie in the first 30 minutes of play.
