Inter’s 4-0 victory over Salernitana

In Fabio Liverani's first game in command of the visitors, Inter Milan beat bottom-of-the-table Salernitana 4-0, continuing their seeming march towards the Serie A title. Within the first seven minutes, the hosts struck the woodwork twice, Marcus Thuram and Nicolo Barella. They were off to an exciting start.

It was just a matter of time until they seized the lead, which they promptly did after two minutes when Lautaro Martinez made it 2-0 with a powerful shot from a distance. Thuram had scored from inside the box. Before halftime, Denzel Dumfries scored a third goal, taking advantage of Guillermo Ochoa dropping the ball at his feet. Salernitana did not score a goal until the 58th minute. Inter eased off after the interval with such a commanding lead, but Hakan Calhanoglu still pulled an incredible stop out of the goalie with a thunderbolt from range that was fumbled around the post.
