Isaiah Isaac: Ready For The Challenge

You may have noticed recently that we have made no fewer than four new signings from Trinidad & Tobago. All four lads have settled in very well into the Uprising Family, and having done so, we thought it was a good time to catch up with them to find out more about their careers to date and their thoughts on playing for our club. The first part of this four-part series of interviews sees us talking to Isaiah Isaac.

Isaiah is 19 years old and whilst he is predominantly a defender, he is also a player who can play comfortably in midfield! He has joined us from previously playing for AIA – the Athletic International Academy in Trinidad & Tobago. The academy is a premier sporting academy and develops top tier student athletes for the next level of their careers. We started the interview by asking him to tell us about his experiences of playing for AIA.

“In my opinion, I will forever say that AIA is the best academy within Trinidad & Tobago and is continuously growing. AIA has developed me immensely into the player I am today because we thrive by our motto of ‘Hard Work Over Talent.’ My highlights from playing with AIA would be the entirety of 2024 with the Under 20’s team. The players in the side had only been together for a year, but we went onto make three consecutive national finals, and an international quarter-final!”

There is no doubt from talking to Isaiah that he has had a brilliant football education with many experiences already for such a young player! As the conversation continued, we asked him what was behind his decision in signing for Uprising FC and what were his thoughts on his time with us thus far.

“Firstly, I would say that I’m a person that loves new challenges and to test myself. When the opportunity presented itself for me to travel to Anguilla and join Uprising FC, I was eager to do so! Knowing that Uprising have traditionally been one of the underdog teams in Anguilla, but now on the brink of a breakthrough, I was ready for the challenge to bring my qualities to the team and to also continue growing.”

“I only have good things to say about my time so far with the club! However, in any environment, there is always room for improvement, and I will continue to help to push the team because I see the potential we possess, and I know we can go all the way!”

We are delighted to have such a highly motivated and talented young player at our club! It is not always easy for young people to travel to and then reside in a new location far away from their homeland, so we asked Isaiah to tell us if he has been able to settle into life in Anguilla?

“Yes, I have, Anguilla is a very peaceful island with easy going and polite people which makes any transition all the more enjoyable.”

Finally, Isaiah told us about his hopes for the rest of this season, both on a personal level and for our club as a whole.

“This season I plan to continue to grow as an individual and as a player with the given experience. I also plan to be a continued asset to the team’s success and by that I intend to continue to help the team develop holistically and go onto win the league title!”

We love that positive attitude, Isaiah! We look forward to watching you for the rest of this season! Welcome to the club bro!
