Juventus and Genoa played out a 1-1 draw

On Matchday 16 of Serie A, Juventus and Genoa drew 1-1 at the Luigi Ferraris stadium. After home custodian Josep Martinez had pulled down the number 7, Federico Chiesa scored the first goal from the penalty spot.

Albert Gudmundsson scored Genoa's equaliser just after the half.  It seemed appropriate that the gifted player from Genoa, who was making his homecoming, was at the heart of Juventus' maiden venture into Grifone territory. Federico Chiesa was set up by a deft backheel, and he sent a shot from a close range towards the near post, which Josep Martinez parried for a corner. This would be the second encounter between the Genoa custodian and the Juve winger at the half's pivotal moment. On minute 22, Chiesa sent Dusan Vlahovic a cross that found its way to the edge of the six-yard box. At close range, the number 9 swept his shot over the bar.
