Klopp set for Germany job

Jurgen Klopp is poised to become Germany’s new manager after reaching an agreement with the DFB, according to press. He will replace Julian Nagelsmann, whose tenure ended following a disappointing World Cup campaign that saw Germany eliminated by Paraguay in the last sixteen. The setback triggered a comprehensive review and opened the door for a major reset, with Klopp quickly emerging as the preferred candidate.

Since leaving Liverpool in 2024, Klopp has worked in a strategic role within the Red Bull football group and repeatedly insisted he was not seeking an immediate return to coaching. Yet he also maintained that the Germany job would be the one opportunity capable of changing his stance. Press reports that Klopp has now approved the project, with an official announcement expected once his departure from Red Bull is finalised.

The DFB view him as the long-term leader to restore Germany’s identity and competitiveness after years of underachievement.
