Tonali becomes Tottenham’s latest marquee signing

Sandro Tonali has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, joining the club as one of its headline additions ahead of the new season, pending final approval of his work permit. The 26‑year‑old leaves Newcastle United after two influential years on Tyneside, where he emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders. Since arriving from AC Milan in 2023, he made 110 appearances, scored ten goals and played a key role in ending Newcastle’s 70‑year wait for a major domestic trophy by helping secure the 2025 Carabao Cup.

Tonali revealed that a long conversation with coach Roberto De Zerbi convinced him that north London was the right step, describing the meeting as “magic.” The Italy international arrives with a strong pedigree, including a Serie A title and more than thirty caps.
