Barcelona is exploring every possibility for its two top summer targets—a left winger and a pivot in the midfield. Midfielder Lazar Samardzic of Udinese is the most recent name to be associated with the Blaugrana. Before moving to RB Leipzig in 2020, Samardzic was scouted by Barcelona when he was just 16 years old and still making his way through the Hertha Berlin levels. He relocated to Serie A's Udinese three summers ago, where he has made a name for himself as a deeper midfielder. In his 29 Serie A appearances thus far, the 22-year-old has started 19, scoring three goals and dishing out two assists.
Samardzic has a €35 million release clause and is being pursued by Napoli and Inter, according to Sport. However, Barcelona is also keeping an eye on him in anticipation of a summer transfer for a midfield player.
