Lewandowski wins La Liga Golden Boot

La Liga 2022/23 ended with Barcelona as champions several matchdays ahead of schedule. Nor was there much excitement in the race for the Golden Boot, which went to Robert Lewandowski almost by default. The high level shown by Karim Benzema last season expected a battle with Barcelona's new signing and Golden Boot winner in 2021/22.

Last season, Benzema had been La Liga's top scorer thanks to his 27 goals. He was the only one to surpass the 20-goal mark in figures that were somewhat lower on average than in previous seasons. In fact, second place was shared between Vinicius (Real Madrid), Iago Aspas (Celta) and Raul de Tomas (Espanyol).
