Mateo Kovacic expresses regret over his move

Mateo Kovacic expressed his regret not to have signed with Pep Guardiola's unbeaten Manchester City team sooner in his career. The summer transfer of midfielder Kovacic from Chelsea to City cost £25 million. Kovacic has previously played for Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Dinamo Zagreb. Despite having almost 500 games in his career, the 29-year-old veteran claimed he feels like he is just getting started under Guardiola, picking up new skills.

Kovacic also disclosed that he regrets not teaming up with Guardiola sooner in his career to have more playing time with the man who is arguably the greatest coach in the world.‌ "It's amazing and tough because I’m learning a lot of new things and I would have loved to come at an earlier age to learn," Kovacic added. "However, learning never ends. That's how I think. I'm glad I can pick up knowledge from him and his words.
