Last summer, Newcastle United made an attempt to recruit Moussa Diaby but was unsuccessful. They will now make another attempt to capture the 23-year-old. However, it appears that PSG will be a challenge for the Magpies. According to recent rumors, Newcastle is eager to get Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen and is willing to break their transfer record to do so.
Leverkusen authorities reportedly want at least £53 million for the winger, and even though that sum of money is substantial, Newcastle can still afford Diaby. However, PSG's interest could be problematic. Moussa Diaby will undoubtedly appreciate PSG's move. The opportunity for Diaby to rejoin his boyhood club must be extremely alluring. If the move does happen, the French team will have hampered Newcastle's transfer plans for the second consecutive summer. Last year PSG made a move on Hugo Ekitike similarly and spoiled Newcastle’s summer plan.
