Newcastle’s Isaac Hayden sidelined for a while

Newcastle United’s injury woes worsen as they remain in the relegation battle this season. Magpies were already without midfielder Hayden after their draw against Manchester United in the Premier League match on Monday, due to suspension. Now the team would miss the player for a long spell as he undergoes surgery for his knee injury in London.  The Tyneside giants involved Hayden in the lineup against Manchester City in the 4-0 loss on 19th December and it was his last appearance.

The 26-year-old would take some time to recover and be fit enough to play alongside teammates. With more injuries piling up and their red zone battle, it remains to be seen whether they would invest in more players in the upcoming window. Apart from Hayden, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin have also been sidelined at St James’ Park.
